Huston-Tillotson University

A hyphen is placed between the first two words.

Only two letters are used when Huston-Tillotson University is abbreviated.  No hyphen is used when printing the two letters only.

 

Logo/seal

The circle with the handshake, cross, 1875, and 1876 is the official logo of the University.

Statement

Huston-Tillotson University evolved from Huston-Tillotson College.  Huston-Tillotson College, incorporated in 1952 as the result of the merger of Tillotson College, founded in 1875, and Samuel Huston College, established in 1876, is Austin’s oldest institution of higher education.

 

Status

Huston-Tillotson University is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation.
